What is Fondant?

No doubt you’re familiar with buttercream frosting, so what is fondant? Fondant is a type of sugar dough that can be rolled out to cover your cake for a sleek, smooth finish. It’s made predominantly of sugar, corn syrup and our special blend of natural gums that are heated and cooled to produce a dough like consistency. Many people are making their own fondant recipes but using ready to roll Satin Ice fondant saves you prep time and allows you to get right to decorating without sacrificing taste or quality!

Satin Ice fondant is vegan, gluten free, nut free, dairy free, trans fat free and Kosher.  Satin Ice Fondant is 100% vegan. The glycerine used is plant derived and our sugar is not filtered through bone char. Our Satin Ice Gum Paste, however, contains egg whites. To create vegan gum paste simply add Tylose or CMC (cellulose gum or gum tragacanth) to any of our Satin Ice fondants.
